COME WITH US TO EUROPE'S LEADING FORUM ON SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
I have huge news to share with you all, but first I want to express how grateful I am to everyone who supports this project in any form.
I am delighted to announce that our latest project realised in the centre of Brazil in February 2019, at Terra do Sol Community, Aparecida de Goiania, has been selected to be part of the leading global SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT FORUM in Europe - European Development Days - organised by the European Union annually in Brussels. This year, the Forum will take place on the 18th and 19th June.
The exhibition ‘How marginalised communities are repurposing waste to survive’ is the affectionate account of thirteen children and young people, from 11 to 17 years of age, who attended workshops of photography during one week and documented how their community is thriving, despite being an extremely marginalised territory, where 400 families survive from the collection of recycling materials.
23 pictures will be displayed to over 40,000 people from 150+ countries.
European Development Days is Europe’s leading forum on global development, hosting representatives of 150+ nations, 42,000 people attend the event, 4,500 social organisations and NGOs, 2,670 speakers and over 100 world leaders.
We are so proud to be part of this year’s edition because the event’s theme: ‘Addressing Inequalities: building a world where no one is left behind’ is exactly what we are about.
We need to raise £400 to cover the cost of this exhibition. This is an amazing opportunity for the children who participated to share their amazing work with the world.
Will you help us?
